How to Change Name in Aadhar Card

Sometimes your name is mistakenly written incorrectly in Aadhaar Card which does not match the bank account and other documents later. Similarly, in the case of girls, the name of surname or caste is also required to be changed. The mistake in the Aadhaar card also comes in the name of a mess. 

According to latest information Name on Aadhar Card can only be changed offline by going to Aadhar Enrolment/Update Center.

STEP 1:To Change Name in Aadhar Card by visiting nearest Aadhar Enrolment/Update Center, you will have to download AADHAAR DATA UPDATE/CORRECTION FORM by clicking here.

STEP 2 :Once you download the form, just take a printout and start filling up the form.

STEP 3 :Remember to fill all fields in the form in Capital letters, Fill the complete form irrespective of the field/s for update/correction. Providing mobile number is mandatory for Update/Change in any of the fields.

STEP 4: From the first field of the form Field for Update/Correction tick mark on Name as you want to change your name in Aadhar.

STEP 5: In the below, field enter your 12-digit Aadhar Number, and then enter your Full Correct Name which you to correct.

STEP 6: And then fill all the remaining fields like Gender, Date of Birth, Address, Pin Code, Mobile Number, and Email ID. Make sure you fill details in the local language in the right-hand side column.

STEP 7: In below field Document Details Write Names of the documents which you will be enclosing for your name correction. For more details Refer the Supported list of valid documents.

STEP 8:Once you fill all these details just sign off below the Applicant’s signature/Thumbprint.

STEP 9:And walk into any nearest Aadhar Enrolment/Update Centre.

STEP 10:Submit the Form with documents to the Enrolment Operator, and the enrolment operator will update your new name which has to be updated.

STEP 11:Do check the spelling of the name once again on the screen which will be placed in front of you. For confirmation, you will be asked your thumbprint or fingerprint.

STEP 12 :Once it is done you will be provided with Receipt of Acknowledgement for Aadhar Name Update. Your details in Aadhar Database will get updated in 2 to 4 weeks and about the same you will get updated via SMS on your registered mobile number.
