Locking and unlocking is a way to prevent your data hacking.
It can bee done in to ways.
Through UIDAI website
Step 1. Go to this website to unlock the odd lock o https://resident.uidai.net.in/biometric-lock
Step 2. Enter the base number and security code of 12 digits.
Step 3. On clicking "Send OTP" you will get the otपी on your mobile. Verify on insert OTP.
Step 4. Now click on "Enable Biometric Locking" and click on "Enable".
To unlock / deactivate biometric data, you will need to click on the log-in "disable biometric locking" by going to the website.
Through mAadhaar App
UIDAI has launched the mAadhaar App for Android users, which can lock and unlock the base biometric data using it. The procedure is as follows:
Step 1. To use it, your mobile number must be registered in UIDAI.
Step 2. Download this app, enter the base number and log in with the help of the OTIPEE that comes on the mobile and create a new password.
Step 3. Click 'Biometric Lock', create a password to lock. After lock, your profile will have a small icon / mark of lock.
To unlock, enter the password by clicking on the same icon / mark. Biometric data will be locked again after being unlocked for 10 minutes.
IMPORTANT INFO
After biometric data is locked, the Aadhaar card holder can not use his biometric information (Irish and fingerprint) until it is unlocked.
Note that after biometric data is locked you can do authentication by OTP for related card related tasks. You will get OTP on your registered mobile number and email ID.
