The Aadhaar Card has become one of the most important identity proofs available to an Indian citizen and recently it was made mandatory to link the IT Department’s Permanent Account Number (PAN) card with the Aadhaar card.

Things to Keep in Mind Before Linking Aadhar and PAN
• You need to check that that your demographic details like date of birth, name and gender should be the same in both the documents.
• In case of a minor mismatch in your registered name in the two, an Aadhar OTP will be generated and sent to the registered Aadhar mobile number.
Although for this to happen, the taxpayer should ensure that the registered DOB and gender in PAN and Aadhar are exactly same.
• Unfortunately, in case of complete mismatch in name on the two documents, the linking shall fail completely.
So, the individual have to compulsary create changes either in PAN or Aadhar information .

Steps to Change Name on PAN Card
• so as to update your name in PAN, you need to visit www.onlineservices.nsdl.com .
• Select the application type: Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data/Reprint of PAN Card.
• After filling in other application information such as Title, Last Name, First Name, Date of Birth, Email Id, PAN Number, you need to confirm if you are a citizen of India and submit the captcha code.
• After this, a token number will be generated, followed by continuation of PAN application form. You can get the PAN correction form online
- In the next screen, "How do you want to submit your pan application documents?" - Here you have to select "Submit digitally through e-KYC & e-Sign (Paperless)".
- Now type your PAN number and type your Aadhar number in the Aadhar number column below it.
- Type your first name in full name of applicant. You have to type your full name, this name will be printed on your PAN card.Enter Date of Birth & Gender

- In the next screen, select Copy of the PAN card in the Proof of PAN
- Now type your name in Declaration details, select Himself / and type in number of documents 1.
- Enter your city in place and click on Submit
- Now we have to pay the PAN card fee of Rs. 115.90 You can pay fees with Online Net Banking, Debit Card.
- After making a succssfull payment, you can see paymnt receipt, you have to proceed with clicking continue.
- Now we have to authenticate our base card. In the next screen, you have to click Authenticate.

- After clicking Authenticate, you have to click on Continue with e-KYC / e-Sign in the next screen.

- Now your base card will have an OTP registered on the Mobile Number which you have to enter in the next screen. Enter OTP and submit it.
- Ongrats, you have submitted PAN Card Name Change / Correction Application successfully.
- You can see Acknowledgment slip in the next screen, download it, through Acknowledgment Number, you can see the status of your application.
When will the new PAN card?
After sending the application, your newly revised PAN card will be received within 40 days.
It takes at least 40-45 days to arrive at the PAN card. So wait.
So notice how easy and easy you can improve online in your PAN card through Aadhaar card. Normally you have to upload Documents or send it to income tax, but do not have to do anything like this in the Aadhar card.
So now whenever you have to make a new PAN card or improve it, then use your Aadhaar card.
