Chandigarh. Transgenders living in the city will be identified separately on their Aadhaar card. Chandigarh will be the first city in the country to identify Tharld Gender on the Aadhar card, where the Aadhar card will be written as a transgenter instead of the men and women. This decision was taken at a meeting of the Transgender Welfare Board on Friday. Officers of various departments of Police, Health, Social Welfare, Legal Services, Municipal Corporation, Administration and Education were present in the meeting chaired by ADC Sachin Rana. At the same time Dhananjay Chauhan and Kajal Mangalakshmi were present on behalf of the Transgender Society. Various issues of transgender were discussed in the meeting and suggestions were sought to resolve them and instructions were given to work on some.


Transgender has given the city administration identity


Chandigarh is the first city to identify transgender. Permission for imposing MX in front of the name of every transgender was given to the transdender by the Welfare Board of Chandigarh Administration a year and a half ago. Many transgender did not have any certificate to identify themselves. In such a situation, the demand for transgender was that the Aadhar card is made of all. Permission to write MX instead of writing men and women should be given. In the meeting, the Aadhaar card department has been instructed to fix the identification of transgender by placing a special camp.
